WHAT WE BELIEVE AT FBC FOUKE
THE SCRIPTURES
We believe the Bible is the inspired Word of God — true, authoritative, and without error. It reveals God’s will for salvation and is the supreme standard by which all human conduct, creeds, and opinions should be tested.
God
We believe in one living and true God who reveals Himself to us as Father, Son, and Holy Spirit — each with distinct personal attributes but without division of nature, essence, or being.
God the Father
We believe God the Father reigns over all creation with providence, wisdom, and love. He is all-powerful, all-knowing, and ever-present, working all things for His glory and the good of those who love Him.
GOD THE SON
We believe Jesus Christ is the eternal Son of God who became fully man while remaining fully God. Through His sinless life, atoning death on the cross, and resurrection from the dead, He made salvation available to all who place their faith in Him.
GOD THE HOLY SPIRIT
We believe the Holy Spirit convicts the world of sin, righteousness, and judgment. He regenerates believers, empowering them for Christian living, understanding of Scripture, and service within the body of Christ.
humanity
We believe all people are created in the image of God and are of infinite worth. Yet, through sin, humanity became separated from God and in need of redemption found only through Jesus Christ.
salvation
We believe salvation is by grace alone, through faith alone, in Christ alone. It is a free gift of God, not earned by works, but received through repentance and faith in Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior.
the church
We believe the local church is a body of baptized believers united by faith in Jesus Christ, governed by His Word, and committed to His mission. The church exists to worship God, grow in discipleship, serve others, and share the gospel to the ends of the earth.
baptism & the lord’s supper
We believe baptism is an act of obedience, symbolizing the believer’s faith in Christ’s death, burial, and resurrection. It is by immersion and follows conversion. The Lord’s Supper is a symbolic act of remembrance, representing Christ’s body and blood given for us.
the family & marriage
We believe God has ordained the family as the foundational institution of human society. Marriage is the uniting of one man and one woman in covenant commitment for a lifetime. Children are a blessing from the Lord and should be nurtured in truth and love.
THE KINGDOM & THE SECOND COMING
We believe Jesus Christ will return personally and visibly to the earth. God will bring all things to their perfect fulfillment — the righteous to everlasting life and the wicked to eternal separation from Him.
MISSION & MINISTRY
We believe every follower of Jesus is called to live out the Great Commission — to make disciples of all nations, showing God’s love through service, witness, and compassion in everyday life.
