MEET THE PASTOR
Rusty Wallace has served as Pastor of First Baptist Church Fouke since 2018, following many years of faithful service in children’s ministry and leadership within the church. His heart for ministry began when he surrendered to preach in the early 1990s, though he didn’t feel called to pastor until God confirmed that calling through the encouragement of fellow ministers, Bro. Wallace Edgar and Bro. James Lindsay.
Raised by devout Christian parents, Rusty grew up surrounded by faith, music, and ministry. His family has served the Lord for generations as musicians and missionaries, shaping the strong spiritual foundation that guides his life today. Known for his compassion and servant’s heart, he is dedicated to helping others — always willing to lend a hand or a listening ear, even if it means doing without himself.
Rusty and his wife, Laura, met in 1976 and married in 1979. Together they have built a loving family, raising two children, and now enjoy being grandparents to three grandchildren and great-grandparents to two.
Before entering full-time ministry, Rusty worked hard from a young age — starting his own lawn business at eight years old, later serving with the Union County Sheriff’s Department, and working many years in trucking and freight. His life experience allows him to connect with people from all walks of life, sharing the hope and grace that can only be found in Jesus Christ.
Rusty’s heart is especially tender toward children and families. During his early ministry, he led children’s chapel programs, personally picking up kids for church every week, and rejoiced over every child who gave their life to the Lord. His lifelong desire is simple: to serve God faithfully, love people deeply, and help lead others to experience new life in Christ.
